On the day of the California Presidential Primary, between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, Jack Bauer is arrested but escapes handcuffed from the secret service. He hijacks a car with the waitress Lauren, goes to a construction and talks to Nina and Tony. Sherry calls Maureen and promises the story of the assassination attempt and conspiracy in the government if she postpones the news about Keith. Teri is sexually abused by Eli to protect Kim and she steals his cellular. Tony and Nina press Jamey and she tries to commit suicide.
In the ninth episode of "24", Nina and Tony press the traitor Jamey and she confesses that she betrayed the CTU for US$ 300,000.00. David Palmer shows his integrity, but his spiteful wife Sherry proves the inaccuracy of the saying that" behind a great man there is a great woman". Teri sacrifices for Kim while Jack is in the beginning of the longest day of his life. My vote is eight.

In the ninth episode of "24," Jack Bauer's investigation takes a darker turn as he uncovers more about the conspiracy. Bauer's relentless pursuit of justice leads him to a confrontation with a high-ranking official involved in the plot. This episode is marked by intense action sequences and dramatic confrontations that highlight Bauer's tactical prowess and determination. A standout moment involves Bauer engaging in a high-stakes chase that culminates in a tense standoff, showcasing the show's ability to blend action with suspense. This sequence is expertly choreographed and directed, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.
Teri Bauer's storyline also progresses as she and Kim attempt to evade their pursuers. The mother-daughter dynamic is explored in greater depth, adding emotional resonance to the narrative. Their struggles highlight the personal cost of the larger political machinations at play, grounding the high-stakes action in relatable human experiences. Meanwhile, Senator Palmer faces increasing pressure as the scandal surrounding his campaign continues to unfold. Palmer's interactions with his family and staff reveal the personal toll of his political ambitions, adding complexity to his character. The episode's direction maintains a high level of tension, with the real-time format enhancing the urgency of the unfolding events. Critics have praised the episode for its intense pacing and strong performances, though some have noted that the constant plot twists can be overwhelming. Despite this, the episode successfully builds on the established tension, deepening the narrative complexity and setting the stage for future developments.

Eight hours ago, Jack Bauer was asked to set up a team and prevent a hit on Presidential candidate David Palmer. Fortunately, he was able to do his job and keep the Senator alive. End of story? Hell, no. After all, the show wouldn't be called 24 if everything ended that quickly. As it turns out, the assassination attempt was just the beginning: with his wife and daughter still in danger, Jack has to locate them and put an end to his nightmare. If only he could convince the authorities he had nothing to do with the conspiracy... As for Palmer, his troubles are far from over: while he tries to cope with the events of the past hour, his wife Sherry unveils her more sinister side in order to protect her son.
With the initial third of the season (episodes 1-8) being the build-up, the real intrigue starts now, showing the real nature of some characters (kudos to Penny Johnson for her controlled performance) and new shades of others: Bauer, in particular, gets a good chance of letting his real emotions slip through the wall of calculating coldness his job requires. "I have killed two people since midnight. I haven't slept in over 24 hours. So maybe you should be a little more afraid of me than you are now." he says at one point to someone who accidentally crossed his path. And although we know he wouldn't hurt civilians without a good reason, that menacing line manages to unsettle a bit, while at the same time confirming who Jack really is: a vulnerable, determined and endlessly charismatic antihero.
Add a couple of breathtaking chases and a bold, tragic ending, and it becomes less difficult to understand why this series bows to no one.
