This episode introduced the viewers to Officer Dennis Booker, played to perfection by actor Richard Grieco. In the story, Booker comes off as being self-centered, bigoted and uncaring, which leads Officer Tom Hanson (Johnny Depp) to think that he somehow is involved in the brutal attack of a teenage girl in the school he is investigating.
Booker is a interesting character for 21 Jump Street because he is different from the rest of the gang. He lives for fun and seems to hold a few secrets from the rest of the crew. While Officer Doug Penhall trademark is that he is funny and goofy, Ioki's trademark is that he is clean and somewhat a loner and Hanson is very involved in his job while keeping a sarcastic sense of humor, Booker can tend to be mean-spirited and Hanson wonders if this is all an act or if in reality he is showing his true feelings.
I felt it was a good way to begin Season 3 of 21 Jump Street and found this a very refreshing episode and one of my favorites. Great acting, great story and I give it a 10.
