Learning More About Penhall
21 April 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

"Best Years Of Your Life" is definitely one of the best episodes of the second season if not the best.In it,we get to see Officers Tom Hanson and Douglas Penhall become extremely depressed after the suicide of a student whom they arrested the night before. Apparently, the student happens to be a popular fellow that many mourned his death like his family, his classmates, friends and schoolmates. This provided Penhall to recount bitter memories of his childhood like his mother's suicide.

The episode provided the viewer an more knowledge about the character of Douglas Penhall. We get to realize many things about him like his mother committing suicide when he was only six years old and that his father was a former priest.Peter DeLuise did an absolutely great job in his portrayal of Penhall as it exhibited a lot of depth that would be comparable to that of Johnny Depp during one of the episodes when we get to know more about Hanson. Now we realize that both have painful childhood memories that makes their partnership great. Also, the overall story has a great combination of humor and drama. This was definitely a classic episode!!!!!!!!!!!
