"Murder in the Mirror" is set in Rome, Tonio Martinelli (Ben Breen) a struggling architect in love with Seraphina (Doreen Denning, also seen in "Black Nemesis" and "A Gift of Murder"), who receives a much needed client in wealthy Count Ottocar Potosi (Vernon Young, also seen in "The Book of Ghouls"). The Count has an unusual request, showing Tonio a photograph of rare antique furniture that he once owned, wanting only to recover the 17th century mirror pictured therein. Monte (Ralph Browne, also seen in "The Photograph") is Tonio's closest friend and also an antique dealer, who just happens to have the mirror in his possession, purchased years before from the Count. Once back in his studio Tonio begins to clean the mirror, only for it to suddenly reflect an incident from 30 years before, with Elena (Jill Donohue, also seen in "Fever"), lovely young wife of the jealous Count Potosi, involved in an affair that results in her lover's death from suffocation. Monte shares some background on Tonio's seeming hallucination, while the aging Count waits to recover his incriminating glass. The climax is a fitting one, but Boris Karloff's THRILLER did something similar yet far bolder in 1961 with "Prisoner in the Mirror." Robert St. Clair was also seen in "The Vine of Death," while Jason Lindsey appeared in both "The Girl in the Glacier" and "Green Are the Leaves."
