Dana Carvey could not attend, but did record a new "Where are they now" spoof with Kevin Nealon as Hans and Franz. However, when the show ran late this sketch was cut. It was first broadcast on 16 October 1999, during an episode of SNL hosted by Heather Graham. The Hanz and Franz skit is still included on the DVD of the 25th Anniversary. See more »
Welcome to the show. I'm out here because somebody had to do it and I guess they felt I was the best guy for it. Saturday Night Live, 25 years on the air and four funny. I mean who we kidding? Come on, as I look around this room I see the star power, the comedic genius, I'm looking at some of the most overrated people in the history of comedy. Some of the worst movies ever made were made by people in this room. Thank God we're going to do what we all do best: television.

But let's talk about the real issue. Why do they only use 2 minutes of
Spacey footage? The man was nominated for an Emmy for his hosting job!! Or
at least, I think he was. He should have been. What was I
Oh. Mr. Spacey's performance on SNL was one of the best in recent memory,
and yet he is simply glossed over in favor of others like... oh... Sarah
Michelle Gellar. This is a sin, and shall be punished when Judgment Day
Seriously though, I highly recommend this special. It's the best of the
SNL sketches, with some entertaining monologues thrown into the mix. See
