This was the first film in motion picture history that was legally available on the Internet while the film was still in theaters.
Morgan Freeman and Jonah Hill have a very brief scene while riding in a car. As Morgan had a major role and this film, and since it was shot in only 15 days, every spare moment Morgan had was spent studying lines. This scene with Jonah took three days to shoot, and between takes Morgan was script reading. Jonah felt he was being ignored by his co-star. This was not true. When the final shot was done, and the camera was off, Morgan to relieve the tension turned to Jonah in a deadpan presentation, did The Name Game song From the 1960's. Jonah Jonah je jop (sic) Jonah, etc, etc. When done, Morgan told Jonah, now do Me.

At a press appearance before a screening at The Paramount Thearer in Charlottesville, Virginia, to WMRA radio's Terry Ward, Morgan Freeman said that this film fit right in with his own personal hope to shed his image as someone usually so heavy with gravitas.

Morgan Freeman's character is referred to as having starred in a film with Ashley Judd. Freeman starred with Judd in Kiss the Girls (1997) and High Crimes (2002).
