DreamWorks Animation in Concert with The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra December 29th and 30th

Universal Brand Development and CineConcerts, along with The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, announce DreamWorks Animation in Concert engagements at Powell Hall on December 29, 2017 at 7:00pm and December 30, 2017 at 7:00pm. The concert features favorite moments from DreamWorks’ most beloved films including Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon and many more with music performed by The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.

Enjoy a celebration of more than 20 years of inspired animation and iconic music scores by Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, John Powell, Alexandre Desplat, Alan Silvestri, Danny Elfman and many others. The audience will relive their favorite moments from DreamWorks most celebrated films including,Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon, and more, as they are projected in HD onto the big screen, while the music is played live by a symphony orchestra.

Sliff 2017 Interview: Ron Stevens – Director of Never Say Goodbye – The Kshe Documentary

Never Say Goodbye – The Kshe Documentary screens Saturday, November 11th at 2:00pm at The .Zack (3224 Locust St.) as part of this year’s St. Louis International Film Festival. This is a Free event.

In director Ron Stevens’ Never Say Goodbye, you’ll see the history of Kshe’s heyday, from its beginning in 1968 throughout the 1970’s and up to 1979. Hear never-before-heard stories from your favorite DJs: John Ulett, Mark Klose, Ron Stevens, Radio Rich, Joe “Mama” Mason, Gary Kolander, and many more. With appearances from Rodger Hodgson (formerly w/Supertramp), Poco, Mama’s Pride, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, and so much of the music you grew up with.

Ron Stevens’ took the time to answer some questions about Never Say Goodbye for We Are Movie Geeks in advance of the screening at this year’s St. Louis International Film Festival:

Newswire: Los Angeles is getting its very own La La Land concert

La La Land may not have won the Best Picture Oscar that it seemed destined to take home, but the city of Los Angeles is still going to celebrate the film and its many contributions to L.A.-inspired nostalgia with a big concert event at the Hollywood Bowl. According to The Hollywood Reporter, composer Justin Hurwitz will be conducting a 100-piece symphony orchestra, choir, and jazz ensemble as they perform the music of La La Land alongside “original vocal recordings” from Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. There will also be “pre-show photo opportunities and a grand fireworks spectacular,” and attendees are “encouraged” to wear “vintage Hollywood-inspired” outfits. Basically, if you didn’t like La La Land already, this event would be your nightmare.
