Better than some
tartan_skirt9 February 2006
The show has definitely been better than most of the other evening shows of that time slot. It has less guests and has more items that might actually be of interest to people. The guests that have been on the show are mainly contestants from Dancing on Ice, which was a bit of a let down, but on the positive side Graham Norton and Sarah Cox have both appeared on it. One thing that may decrease the show's popularity is that with an hour's run-time they may have tried to cram too much into one episode and thus is may have seem rushed. It was an interesting programme for me to watch and if they plan on broadcasting a second season I'd definitely watch it again.

I think I'll miss it when it ends (tomorrow?).

It's Bad!!

Come join us as we dance over the corpse of weekday afternoon television! Witness the carnage left over by Paul O'Grady's sudden defection to Channel 4! Notice the absence of warmth and humour from the schedule after his untimely departure! Whatever will ITV do with the slot now? Show more repeats? Invent a new soap opera? Have an extended news bulletin? Nope, they decide to launch a new chat show! One with a 'rising star' you know, that bloke from Top Gear, and the non-lesbian from the duo who used to present Light Lunch. Then, add lots of useless gadgets for them to review, produce stupid games they play with the visibly-bored audience and line up tons of interviews with D-listers who'll be stacking the shelves at Asda a year from now.. and what have you got? A load of old pants, that's what! In fact, even Richard & Judy are starting to look tempting after watching this mess. Oh well, looks like I might as well start dinner a bit earlier from now on. C'est la vie..

How come no-one liked it????

I'm amazed people slated this show. I thought it was terrific and so did the vast majority of kids at school according to my kids. It was wacky, funny and unpretentious. Mel and Richard had us in stitches everyday.. I despair.. I thought for certain that it was going to sound the death knell of the dreary, self-congratulatory, po-faced Richard and Judy..

Everyday at the school gates the children's talk was all of what was on the 5'O'Clock Show the previous evening. I really cannot see what there was about this show that anyone could find to dislike.

I guess the show won't be returning, judging by all the negative comments I have seen on the subject, and all I can say is "What a pity"

Are people now so immune to lighthearted fun that they are unable to laugh at unsophisticated humour any more?

As far as my family were concerned, this was the big hit of the year, and it is a great disappointment to discover that nobody else felt the same
