Sid Caesar, 7 October 2006
Author: pmreviews7 from United States

It was great to see Sid Caesar performing his fast paced comedic dialogue, speaking different languages, showing that his comedic timing is still in tact. Good also that Billy Crystal was there to give him the Pioneer Award. That was special in that he usually hosts the Academy Awards and added a big boost to the star power there. Many of the young or younger stars-or other members of the audience(some probably not as familiar with Sid Caesar or his "Show of Shows" program from the 50's) looked like they were surprised and delighted by his funny talent-an 84 year old veteran coming on stage with a cane ,then bursting out with his brand of comedy that ended up proving why he is a comedy legend. He did a great bit.The whole show had a nice variety of star types-young and old.Seeing the "Good Times" cast back together after so many years was another of my favorite highlights. This TV LAND AWARDS could be the most versatile collection of personalities-featuring faces from "Batman" to "Dallas" to "Good Times",Sid Caesar(from the beginning of television )to the freshmen cast of "Grey's Anatomy".Even Quentin Tarantino,Robert Downey Jr,Hilary Swank and Jeremy Piven were there.Although this didn't have past favorites like Don Knotts,Carol Burnett,Don Adams or Tim Conway, this ranks as a favorite after the first one with host John Ritter.
