This programme typifies the depths to which British TV has sunk. Unable to devise anything new and watchable, it has resorted to rehashes of films and programmes from yesteryear. While British TV used to be the envy of the world, sadly Crumpet is a celebration of titillation from some of its and British cinema's not so great moments. Even the presenter links the clips of scantily clad females as he cruises around in a typical dirty old man's Rolls Royce. Why some feminist movement didn't stone the BBC in protest is beyond me. Perhaps they viewed it as great propaganda for their cause, as even the most die-hard male chauvinist would have to admit that this was exploitation at its most tasteless. According to a Daily Mail article (March 20, 2006) the BBC even stole some of the clips for the programme. What will they sink to next!?
