Good photography and a pleasing cast
A very entertaining two-reel romantic number. This follows the line of all that stirring school of fiction which began with "The Prisoner of Zenda." Ernest Joy, playing the Prince of Melvaria, falls in love with an American girl, portrayed by Belle Bennet. He is forbidden to wed her, but escapes and follows her to New York. Later, when his country needs all her soldiers, he makes the supreme sacrifice and returns. Good photography and a pleasing cast of people combine to make this an attractive offering. - The Moving Picture World, December 20, 1913
