Uncle Max: a bad influence to children?
15 February 2017 | by See all my reviews

When I was 7/8 years old at the time, I used to enjoy this one show that had no dialog, just visual gags. You're probably thinking that it would be Mr Bean, but you're wrong; it's Uncle Max.

Uncle Max was a CITV/CBBC program that was about the titular character and his nephew, Luke. They would go to a place (like a supermarket or an arcade), and turn an everyday trip into something exciting. Max would do silly stunts while being as quiet as possible, similar to Mr Bean. I kinda enjoyed the show back then, but looking back at it, Uncle Max a very cringy program.

The main character terrifies me. Seriously he is a bad example to children around the world, as he does dangerous stunts and he does childish acts with his nephew. For the stunts, he once attempted water skiing with a golf cart and a bag, and that other episode when he ate too many sweets and went obese at a cinema. Appalling.

The humour is ranged from pretty funny, to absolute creepy. For example, there was this dentist episode where he ate a bar of chocolate in front of a man with shiny teeth, and the fisheye shots were disturbing. Not to mention this one scene where he smeared ketchup on his mouth (to make it look like his mouth is bleeding) in front of patents with awful, awful teeth. Disgusting.

Now, I know this show is aimed at children and that it's not for me, but this show is very cringy for me and very disturbing, too.
