Trivia

Beezus and Ramona first appeared, as supporting characters, in a series of books focused on Henry Huggins. Beverly Cleary later wrote Beezus and Ramona, which actually focused on Beezus and her family. However, her younger sister Ramona became so popular, that the remaining books focused on Ramona. Beezus is still an important character, and Henry Huggins still appears, but became a secondary character in the series he launched. The names are reversed in the title for this film because of the shift in focus to Ramona. See more »

Goofs

Just before Hobart proposes to Bea, he shows her a box full of old memorabilia that had been buried for years. The box is a Converse sneaker box of a newer sort with an attached lid. In the time frame the lost box was first buried, it would most likely have been different, with a detachable lid. See more »

Quotes

Bob Quimby: So, Beezus, suppose I told you that when I pulled up by the house tonight I saw your old buddy Henry staring at it like he left something important inside of it.
Dorothy Quimby: Henry Huggins? I haven't heard that name in a while. Isn't he the boy that used to eat dirt in the backyard?
Bob Quimby: Yeah.
Beezus: He doesn't do that anymore!
Bob Quimby: Ooh, if I didn't know better, I'd say somebody's got a crush.
Beezus: Can we please talk about something else?
Dorothy Quimby: Well, there is that dance coming up. Maybe he wants to ask you to it.
Bob Quimby: Well, if he's gonna ...

A cute little film
22 July 2010 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Ramona and Beezus is a 2010 film adaptation based on the book Ramona Forever. Joey King plays Ramona and Selena Gomez plays Beezus. I thought the film was actually quite good and it didn't disappoint me at all. Now a lot of people are going out to see this film because Selena Gomez plays in it. But the real person whom truly shines in this film has to be Joey King. She steals the show from her co-stars and plays Ramona really vividly. This movie is a very fun family movie, and if you have a younger brother or sister, you'd connect right away. I hope IMDb users don't just give this film a 1, because its a children's movie and I hope they see it before they judge.

Ramona and Beezus is a small summer flick, that stands short, but proudly with Huge Summer Blockbusters. Highly recommended 8/10
