I was able to attend the Los Angeles theatrical premiere screening of this TV documentary on Dec. 3, 2006. "The Real Lost World" is about an expedition to the remote jungle plateau of Roraima in Venezuela. It compared a sepia tone re-enactment of 19th century explorers, clips of Bob Hoskins in "The Lost World", a fictional British TV series from 2001 based on the Arthur Conan Doyle novel, and the production's own expedition on a trip to the 9300' plateau of Roraima. It will premiere on the ANIMAL PLANET channel this Saturday, December 10, 2006at 8pm, and on Discovery HD Theater on Dec. 14, 2006. The native HD footage shot by the crew in Venezuela makes a great HD showpiece. This will keep "Animal Planet" viewers interested, and Discovery HDTV viewers mesmerized with the great HD footage of the remote Roraima plateau.
