Miley Cyrus will be ringing in the New Year in a venue she rarely sets foot in: a high school gym. The Hannah Montana star will be performing live from the gymnasium of Beckman High School in Irvine, Calif., the prize from an MTV-sponsored contest held over the summer. The audience will be a sea of pink. It was Beckman High senior Alison Kaprielian's hard work for the Pink Ribbon Club for breast-cancer awareness that clenched the prize for the school, E! News reports. Every audience member will wear pink for the cause. "We are all so excited! We have been practicing all day, »

The Jonas Brothers are getting ready for 2009 by listing what they're grateful for in 2008. "There are probably not enough words to describe what an amazing year we have lived in 2008," the brothers wrote in a MySpace blog. Nick, Joe and Kevin's long list of thanks included: the opportunity to be on the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus tour; the launch of Camp Rock in the Us and around the world; their first American Music Award for Breakthrough Artist; and their first ever Teen Choice Award and Kids' Choice Award. "This has been one of the best years of our lives," the Jonas Brothers write to their fans. "None of this would have been possible without you. You have made our dreams come true." The brothers are set to perform in Times Square on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest."

If only Wall Street had bet on Twilight. Or Hannah Montana. Or Kirk Cameron. With a $167.3 million overall domestic take as Sunday, per Box Office Mojo, Twilight made more than four times its reported $37 million production budget—the best rate of return on any film in the 2008 Top 10, including The Dark Knight. The Batman epic was a pretty good investment, too, very nearly tripling its gargantuan $185 million budget with a $530.8 million domestic take, Hollywood's second-biggest ever. Still, The Dark Knight was nothing compared to these off-the-charts performers: High School Musical 3: Senior Year ($89.7 million), which grossed about eight times its $11 million budget; the »
With so many new movies getting ready to hit theaters, it’s no surprise that over the next week we’ll be getting tons of new trailers and first looks at many 2009 movies. And while I don’t know what trailers are coming from all the studios, thanks to a morning email from Disney, I can at least tell you their plans…. It seems that starting Christmas Day and running through January 5th they’ll be aggressively pushing their future content on Disney.com as they’ll be showing exclusive first looks of "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience" and "Hannah Montana The Movie" on the site. Also, they’ll be offering the exclusive online premieres of Cars Toons episode “El Mater-Dor.” Of course this isn’t everything, so here’s the exact info I was sent:December 25, 2008 – Performances from the Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade, following its »

Walt Disney Pictures is the latest studio to drop off some new images and information regarding their 2009 slate of films and fortunately for me they have supplied very little in way of pictures, which makes my job much easier, however for you it means you aren't going to get as many goodies such as no images from G-Force, nothing new for Up and not even a preview image for A Christmas Carol. From what I can tell the most exciting thing is a scruffy pic of Bruse Willis in Surrogates, but how about you be the judge? Over the next three pages are all 14 of Disney's upcoming flicks with cast, director, synopsis and picture gallery links where they apply. Remember, the links open in a new browser window so just close the new window to return to this article and continue the preview. Enjoy! Confessions Of A Shopaholic Feb. 13, 2009 Photo: »

The Film Department is aiming for perfection, signing up for an English-language take on Italian romantic comedy "The Perfect Man."
Peter Chelsom will helm the feature about a love triangle in which one woman tries to break up the relationship between her close male and female friends by hiring a male model to come between them. The pic is based on Luca Lucini's 2005 Italian-language "L'Uomo Perfetto."
Denise Di Novi, who counts "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" and "Edward Scissorhands" among her many producing credits, is producing via her Di Novi Pictures banner. Colleen McGuinness, who is also writing the screenplay for Di Novi's "Not Our Class Dear," is penning the script.

Miley Cyrus has complained that she was given an old Porsche instead of a new car after turning 16. The Hannah Montana star admitted that she had wanted a brand new vehicle but was instead offered her mother's old Porsche. "I do have a car. I took my mom's old car. I didn't get the one I wanted, but I got the old car which wasn't so bad because it was a Porsche," she told Us TV show Extra. "I suppose it was a pretty good hand-me-down." The singer revealed that her driving lessons have not been as easy (more) »

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus has landed the keys to her mom's old sportscar.
The 16-year-old Hannah Montana star passed her California learner's permit exam on Wednesday, and she's already behind the wheel of a luxurious Porsche.
She tells U.S. news show Extra, "I took my mom's old car. I didn't get the one I wanted, but I got the old car which wasn't so bad because it was a Porsche... It was a pretty good hand me down." »
Even teen pop sensations can get hand-me-downs. After earning her learner's permit on Wednesday, Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus, who turned16 Nov. 23, received an early Christmas present: Her mom, Tish, handed over the keys to her Porsche Cayenne. "Tish got a new car recently, so she's giving Miley her old car," a source tells People. "She's so excited. Her mom lets her drive to work when she's with her." Earlier this year, Cyrus told People that her dream sweet 16 birthday gift would be "a car, but we'll see … I don’t want to name a certain kind. I want my »

Who needs a limo: Miley Cyrus may now drive herself to the Golden Globe Awards (with a licensed adult). The 16-year-old Hannah Montana star got her learner's permit on Wednesday, and less than 24 hours later woke up at 5:30 a.m. Thursday to texts telling her she nabbed a Globe nomination for Best Original Song for "I Thought I Lost You," the theme song for her movie Bolt. "I'm so stoked! I never expected to get nominated," Cyrus tells People. "I can't believe I'm on the same list as Clint Eastwood, Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen and everyone else." Producers on the »

Remember Adventures in Babysitting, the Chris Columbus teen comedy with Elisabeth Shue? Comic fans were most amused that one of her charges, Sara (Maia Brewton), wore Thor’s helmet throughout the film and Vincent D'Onofrio’s creepy character was nicknamed Thor.
The movie did well enough to spawn a short-lived television series and finally word is out that a sequel is being made. The star will be Miley Cyrus, according to The Chicago Sun -Times, and the movie is slated for 2010. The Hannah Montana star will appear opposite fellow Disney headline Raven Symone with Tiffany Paulsen (Nancy Drew) at work on the script. »

When you're a pop star one thing's for certain: You never know where your family is going to land for the holidays, according to Miley Cyrus. "It is so chaotic all the time," says Cyrus, who spreads Christmas cheer in a reindeer outfit on the Dec. 14 episode of her hit show Hannah Montana. "We just always make sure we're together no matter what." For the Cyrus clan, "we're never really all home on a holiday, so it's kind of hard to keep traditions alive," says Cyrus, 16. "The most important thing is not about doing the same thing every year, but creating new memories. »

You've got a chance to win it all at tonight’s 20th Annual Rock For Kids Rock & Roll Charity, held at Park West. It should be a night of exciting bidding: Last year, a meet-and-greet with Hannah Montana raised $43,000. »
If last night's "10 Most Fascinating People of 2008" is an accurate indicator, it doesn't take much to charm Barbara Walters. Only three women made the list: AfterEllen.com sweetheart Tina Fey; her doppelgänger, Sarah Palin; and the omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient Miley Cyrus.
Most fascinating about Miley Cyrus is the fact that she just signed a seven-figure book deal. No, I'm not joking. The star of the crazy-successful Hannah Montana earned Disney $1 billion this year in ratings, merchandising and concerts. One billion dollars.
Walters mentioned Cyrus' scandalous Vanity Fair photo shoot, calling it R-rated. I didn't get the hoopla when the photo came out, and I don't get it now. Apparently Barbara and I are watching entirely different R-rated movies. I give this photo a G-minus at worst.
I heard that Miley Cyrus is divorcing her parents—is that true? I didn't know a kid could do such a thing. —Helen, Leeds First, let's dispense with the thundering denial that just came rolling down from Mount St. Miley: The rumor that Hannah Montana is considering legal emancipation from her parents is, in the words of a Cyrus publicist responding to my inquiry, "completely false." However, if Miley Cyrus did want legal sundering from Billy Ray and What's Her Name—essentially freeing herself from her parents and achieving an early adulthood—the teen sensation would be the latest in a long line of famous child performers to do so. In fact there are plenty »
We already got a taste of Jennifer Aniston's EW cover and what she had to say inside, but there's a lot more where that came from. In the article we get an even more candid — and potty-mouthed, ha — Aniston than usual, which is all the more why she seems like the perfect girlfriend. Marley & Me is still a few weeks away, but if the cute factor of this photo shoot is any indication, it's going to be a winner. Love the puppy. Here's more from the interview: On Marley & Me: "Sometimes you're not always so thrilled about the movie you're pushing . . . But this is a good one.'' On her persona: ''Everyone projects their thoughts on you. Everyone's got an opinion. I wish they didn't. I've gotten to the point where, if I focus on all of that stuff, I won't make a move, you know?. . . There's this character — it's like my Hannah Montana, »
