Steven Spielberg and the Original 'War of the Worlds' (2005)

*** (out of 4)

Fun featurette has Steven Spielberg talking about his love for the original THE WAR OF THE WORLDS and how he wanted to include the original cast members in this. Also interviewed are Gene Barry and Ann Robinson who of course were in the original and get to talk about that film but also what they thought about being invited back to appear in the remake. Fans of either film are really going to enjoy this, although at just eight-minutes there's no question that it could have gone on longer. Spielberg talks about the first time he worked for Barry and he also tells another nice story about a homage to Robinson in E.T. Fans of either version should get a kick out of this as it's always fun getting to hear from the original stars but it's also cool getting to hear Spielberg talk about the film.
