Troma's description is a bit misleading, as this movie is not usually hilarious. It's got some great parts. But some are far too realistic and harrowing. Most of these people do not seem to be acting. These are people you do not usually see on a movie screen or even on your TV (unless they're on Cops or Springer.) Except for the writer/director Giuseppe Andrews as Coney Island. This makes one wonder if he is related to these people, or if he is just using them. If he is just using them, did he develop some sympathy for them? It is definitely worth viewing, but it may haunt you. (Especially the portion with El Dookie). And if you get the DVD, be sure to check out the "Afterschool Specials." They are bizarre.
