Kate Hudson appears to be having a blast in Aspen, Colo. The Something Borrowed star couldn't help but flash her pearly whites as she clutched on to a cup o' joe while treading through the town's snowy streets with her fiancé, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy. Hudson was bundled up in a black, hooded sweatshirt and furry snow boots as the couple headed to a store to pick up some snowboarding gear after grabbing some snacks at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. The 33-year-old actress and her rocker hubby-to-be are in town celebrating the holidays with Hudson's family—an annual tradition for the clan. "I grew up in Colorado and we always go back to »
I'm on record loving David O. Russell's Silver Linings Playbook and even though it's now starting to look like Jennifer Lawrence may lose the Best Actress Oscar race to Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), that doesn't change my opinion on the film overall. Oscars don't really hold that kind of a sway over me. However, after watching the film again last week, a certain scene stuck out to me that didn't necessarily hit me the first time I saw it... most likely because I didn't need the convincing. Some have been complaining about the film's cliches and formulaic finale. Okay, but if you are to dismiss Silver Linings on these merits then I have to assume there is no level of romantic comedy that entertains or moves you because it's either this or something with Katherine Heigl or Kate Hudson, coated in sugar and all manner of sweeteners. By comparison there is no comparison. »

Perhaps no genre of film has as low a rate of return as the romantic comedy. Even horror films have the occasional subversive festival gem to prop up fan interest every so often, but serious fans of the rom-com are reduced to getting their jollies from the amiable, but botched likes of "Crazy Stupid Love" and "The Five-Year Engagement," films which are no great shakes, but look like masterpieces compared to stuff like "Something Borrowed" and "New Years Eve," that makes up most of the films of this type. We're a long way from "When Harry Met Sally," or even "Bridget Jones' Diary." But things are looking up; "Silver Linings Playbook," a smart and genuinely funny entry into the genre, is in theaters now, and now the trailer for one of 2013's early attempts has arrived, and touch wood, it looks pretty good: Yahoo UK have premiered the trailer »

One’s ability to live a balanced life often depends on how one compensates for their deficiencies. Take, for instance, the human body. It has a natural ability to compensate when forced to part with a “necessary” limb or sense. You lose your sight, your hearing increases. You lose a kidney, and the other one picks up the slack. The body compensates; you evolve, adapt and move on.
The process of compensation is not a purely biological fact, but a cinematic one as well. We often notice a primary core value missing from films today. The missing value is diversity. Since the more purposeful, conscious efforts to introduce diversity into films usually come off as heavy-handed, most films have come to rely upon more understated efforts to pierce the public consciousness. These films introduce tropes that eventually become a permanent part of pop culture, for better or worse. One trope »

Arriving on VoD later this month, and released in Us theatres early next, the film sees Burns reuniting him with Connie Britton, who’s starred in a handful of Burns’ earlier films, and now EW have released a new poster for the film.
“With The Fitzgerald Family Christmas, Burns returns to the working-class, Irish-American roots of The Brothers McMullen. Reuniting with McMullen co-stars Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights), and Mike McGlone, along with Noah Emmerich (Little Children, Beautiful Girls) and Kerry Bishe (Newlyweds, Red State), Burns seamlessly weaves an ensemble story of adult siblings dealing with the desire of their estranged father (Ed Lauter, The Artist, The Longest Yard) to return home for Christmas for the first time since he »

Hopefully, you won't have to go into the 'Office' on your birthday, John! John Krasinski -- we absolutely loved your sweet side in Something Borrowed, but we adore your humor in The Office. Wishing you a sweet but fun birthday! Happy birthday, John Krasinski! Only you can get away with the sort of wry naivete you so brilliantly portray on the hit show The Office. A double Libra (Sun and Moon), you simply can't help your wild appeal, though perhaps tying the knot with English beauty Emily Blunt will help fans move on from romantic fantasy. The stars plan to pile on the workload this coming year, with some unforeseen benevolence coming your way as well. This is the year that anything could happen! Click to read more at Astrology.com! »

Ewan McGregor is set to headline Indomina Releasing's contemporary "The Prince and the Pauper" tale, Born to Be King , Variety reports. Kate Hudson is also said to be eyeing the project as the female lead. Written and directed by Peter Capaldi ( Strictly Sinatra ), Born to Be King follows an on-set battle between male and female movie stars and a situation that gets all the more complicated when an extra arrives bearing a shocking resemblance to the leading man. McGregor was recently seen in Steven Soderbergh's Haywire and Lasse Hallström's Salmon Fishing in the Yemen . He'll next appear on the big screen in Bryan Singer's just-retitled Jack the Giant Slayer . Hudson, meanwhile, appeared in Something Borrowed and Mira Nair's The Reluctant Fundamentalist . »
They may not be Lena Dunham's Girls, but Emily Owens, M.D. and The Mob Doctor (as well as Nashville and others) are aiming to recapture the zeitgeist -- and the female audience -- for broadcast television in the U.S. On the more traditionally male, genre-oriented side of things, 666 Park Avenue leads the way by tapping into familiar horror imagery with some wicked twists. Emily Owens, M.D. stars Mamie Gummer (Meryl Streep's daughter) as a medical intern at a hospital that is much like high school -- a comparison that is hammered home with endless boxes of nails. Jennie Snyder Urman created the show, and it reflects her experience on 90210 and Gilmore Girls (she also wrote the script for 2011's Something Borrowed), with Emily »
Warner Bros. has release the first teaser for Alcon Entertainment's Beautiful Creatures. It's a supernatural love story, and even though I knew exactly what it was trying to do to me, the teaser managed to suck me in and make me curious to see it.
Without too much finger pointing, in short, it's really trying to set itself up as another Twilight-esque tale. There are young kids in school who fall for each other, but there's a bunch of weird supernatural stuff that tries to get in there way. Sounds familiar doesn't it? Even so, I somehow became intrigued by it. I can't say exactly what it is, but something about it feels a little deeper than how Twilight has handled things, and thus, may be worth a gander.
If you're curious for more info check out the details sent along with it:

While the pair may not mesh on-screen, in reality, Lea was thrilled to get the opportunity to work with Kate.
"It's an honor, seriously. It's such an honor," Lea told AccessHollywood.com's Laura Saltman at the "Glee" Season 4 premiere party in Los Angeles on Wednesday, of working with the "Something Borrowed" star.
"Oh my god, I am the biggest 'Almost Famous' fan," she added, referencing ...

Luke Greenfield's film credits are kind of all over the place. The writer-director should be best known for his underrated 2004 cult hit The Girl Next Door, starring Elisha Cuthbert, Emile Hirsch and Timothy Olyphant, but it's hard to overlook his first feature, The Animal, or his latest, Something Borrowed. In the middle of a story about Greenfield signing a new network deal at ABC, having directed the pilot for the their upcoming comedy Prairie Dogs, two new feature film projects emerged as also on tap for the filmmaker and his WideAwake production company. Variety reports that Greenfield is developing two movies including new dramedy called The Last Bachelor and an untitled action-comedy at 20th Century Fox. Co-written by the director and Nicholas Thomas, Taylor Hamra and Jesse Sweet, The Last Bacheloris about a 30-something man who puts his life on pause in order to find the one. When the »
Back in 2004 Luke Greenfield showed promise with the better-than-it-should-have-been sex comedy The Girl Next Door, but since then we’ve been waiting for the director repeat that same magic. Unfortunately his last effort, Something Borrowed, fell prey to all the generic rom-com trappings he avoided in his previous feature. He’s now looking for his next feature and has lined up two possibilities, Variety reports.
With the connective tissue being Mark Ruffalo, producer of his directorial debut Sympathy for Delicious, Andrew Renz, has linked up with Greenfield for the dramedy The Last Bachelor, which “follows a single man in his late 30s who drops everything to seek out his soulmate. When he finally meets “the one,” he finds himself behaving as if he had a ticking biological clock.”

It's safe to say Kate Hudson has been on one heck of a workout plan. Nearly a year after giving birth to son Bingham, the 33-year-old Something Borrowed star showed off her super-fit, post-baby body on a beach in Greece, soaking up the sun in a skimpy black Chloe bikini with her fiancé Matthew Bellamy and her 8-year-old son Ryder, according to Pop Sugar. Hudson's mom Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell were also on hand for the family affair, joining the trio later in the day for a boat ride. Following the sun-soaked trip in Greece, Hudson jetted off to Paris, where she was spotted shopping with Ryder during Paris Fashion Week on Thursday. Perhaps the duo was picking up a surprise for »
