WB Moves 2011 Comedies

17 December 2010 3:44 PM, PST | Box Office Mojo | See recent BoxOfficeMojo.com news »

This afternoon, Warner Bros. Pictures adjusted the dates for three of their 2011 comedies (Horrible Bosses, Crazy, Stupid, Love., and Something Borrowed), while adding the Arthur remake to the schedule. Steve Carell comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love. has moved from April 22 to July 29, where it will face off against comic book adaptation Cowboys & Aliens. This is almost exactly the same date as Carell's last comedy, Dinner for Schmucks, which earned $73 million. As a result of this change, Warner Bros. has removed dark comedy Horrible Bosses from that day, and now has it listed as an undated Summer 2011 release. It could end up in June, where only one other comedy is currently scheduled, though that may be viewed as too close to the studio's big comedy The Hangover 2 (May 26). Arthur, which stars Russell Brand as the titular character and Helen Mirren as his mother, is now scheduled for April 8. The original Arthur earned $95.5 million, »

Kate Hudson Shows a Little Something Getting Her Caffeine Fix

4 November 2010 10:00 AM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Kate Hudson made a coffee run in her flip-flops yesterday morning in La. The actress once again looked laid back after getting into costume for her big annual Halloween bash, where she hosted tons of her famous friends like Leonardo DiCaprio, Gwen Stefani, and Nicole Richie. Kate's boyfriend, Matt Bellamy, was also around to celebrate the holiday with her inner circle. His band, Muse, is on a break from concert commitments, which means more chances to hang out with her son Ryder. She's had the past few months off work while she accompanied Matt on tour, but we just got a first sneak peek at Kate, John Krasinski, and Ginnifer Goodwin in Something Borrowed, which comes out in 2011. Posters and Synopses for Step Up 4Ever 3D, Brother’S Justice, Hybrid, and Something Borrowed

3 November 2010 9:27 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Continuing our intense coverage of the American Film Market this week, we’ve got posters and synopses for Step Up 4Ever 3D, Brother’s Justice, Hybrid, and Something Borrowed. In what has to be one of the hardest titles to type in the history of film, Step Up 4Ever 3D lacks a director and hasn’t even started production yet but Summit Entertiainment has released a promo poster and brief synopsis. Underrated actor Dax Shepard (Parenthood) makes his feature screenwriting and directorial debut with the comedy Brother’s Justice, starring Bradley Cooper, Tom Arnold, and Jon Favreau. We’ve also got the Kate Hudson-starred Something Borrowed, directed by Luke Greenfield (The Girl Next Door), and One Missed Call director Eric Valette’s Hybrid which is about a murderous, serial killer car (seriously). Hit the jump for the posters and fairly thorough synopses.

Here’s the synopsis for Step Up »

J.J. Abrams' Super 8 Gets a Release Date

29 October 2010 2:00 PM, PDT | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

Paramount Pictures has finally let us in on some of the mystery surrounding writer-director J.J. Abrams' new Spielberg-inspired sci-fi movie, Super 8—the release date. Currently in production in West Virginia, Super 8 will debut June 10, 2011, opening against Fast Five, the fifth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, and Something Borrowed, a romantic comedy starring Kate Hudson and John Krasinski.

The plot of Super 8 is still under wraps, but all indications are that this "tribute to" Spielberg movies of the '70s has something to do with aliens or giant monsters (or both). The cast includes Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Gabriel Basso and Zach Mills.

J.J. Abrams' 'Super 8' Gets A Super Release Date

28 October 2010 10:24 AM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

There's not much info out there about J.J. Abrams' super-secret "Super 8" -- guess it wouldn't really be super-secret if we knew the plot and all. But now we can add one more thing to the very brief "Super 8" cheat sheet we've been compiling: a release date. The Paramount Pictures flick has landed the prime summer slot of June 10, 2011.

There it'll do battle with the latest installment in "The Fast and the Furious" franchise, "Fast Five," and the John Krasinski-Kate Hudson rom-com "Something Borrowed," which is really more counter-programming to than competition for the other two flicks.

Back to "Super 8" and what's been revealed so far. Other than the release date, we've been able to piece together a few facts from interviews, press releases and that tantalizing teaser trailer that debuted back in May.

We know that J.J. Abrams is directing from an original script that he wrote, »

The pair met at California's Coachella Music Festival in April and were often seen together before the singer went public with their romance in July.

Their relationship blossomed while Hudson was on the set of the romantic comedy - and Bellamy charmed all of her co-workers.

Egglesfield tells America's Ok! magazine, "It looks like they started dating while we were filming. I think her heart was already set on this guy. (Kate) did bring him by the last day of shooting. So, I got to meet him, and he's a cool guy." »
