My fear of Nuns is again validated!
garyad669 February 2006
If you grew up Catholic or grew up listening to the stories of those who did, this short film will hit home. It reminds me of every reason why my family didn't like "those people" down the street and every reason I detested my own religious schooling! In the end, families stick together for their salvation - who knows about the neighbors!

I got a chance to see this film at a film festival and hear a bit of Q&A with the writer. I laughed so much that I went out of my way to get a DVD of this to share with my some friends who grew up in the same era of this film and have rarely seen them laugh so much... what can I say - they were the ones who went to the Noon Mass!

It hits the spot!

Having grown up in the 50s with my two best friends being Catholic, this really hit a warm spot for me! I remember both of them going thru 'first communion dress blues', and this short captured the humor and the angst and the neighborhood of 50's mid America to a tee!

Its hard to believe that a group of women could have put this period piece together so well on a low budget! The humor is terrific but it also allows time for some "ahhhhhhhhhhs", just like growing up in that climate did. The acting was wonderful too, and I, and the friends who accompanied me, had such a lovely time! I think it should be made into a full length film! Movie Fan
