So what is the significance of all this?
24 December 2008 | by (Bradenton, Florida) – See all my reviews

This documentary was included on the DVD "Full Frame--Documentary Shorts: Volume 5". While Volume 1 was amazing, this later release wasn't nearly as satisfying due to several shorts (including this one) that just didn't seem particularly necessary.

This documentary consists of camera people observing and recording obnoxious people loudly talking on their cell phones in crowded places--talking about somewhat intimate things with dozens of strangers able to listen in if they are so inclined. The problem, though, is that that's really all there was to this short documentary. There were no interviews or narration to tie it all together. Plus, the phone conversations, though personal, weren't at all interesting or significant. Perhaps it's saying something about the banality of it all, but I would have been much more interested if they'd caught people saying god-awful or truly outlandish things in such public forums--THAT would have been interesting and can be a serious problem worth addressing. But otherwise, if I want to hear people blathering on cell phones, I'll just hang out at a mall and listen.
