Hollywood villain dubs in own voice for 'Singam 2' (With Image)

Chennai, June 15: Hollywood actor Danny Sapani, who is playing the antagonist in upcoming Suriya-starrer Tamil action-drama "Singam 2", is dubbing in his voice for the movie, in London.

Sapani has earlier starred in English films such as "Trance", "Mercenaries" and "The Oxford Murders".

"Danny Sapani is dubbing in his own voice for the film in London under the supervision of director Hari Gopalakrishnan. For the first time in Tamil cinema, a Hollywood actor is dubbing in his own voice," said a statement from the production house Prince Pictures.

Gist: A man (Elijah Wood) obsessed with an abducted actress (played by adult crossover star Sasha Grey) attempts to discover what’s happened to her, following clues and footage made available to him over an iPhone. Vigalondo, who says the feature was inspired by De Palma’s Blow Out (which happens to be a film heavily inspired by Blow Up), will see us following the action from the Pov of a laptop connected to the internet, and thus, the audience will become the protagonist.

Prediction: We’re predicting a Directors’ Fortnight slot for Vigalondo’s latest, and it would be his first title to premiere at Cannes. His 2007 breakout hit Time Crimes landed him a Toronto premiere for his 2011 follow-up, Extraterrestrial. The Weinstein Company has released a new trailer for directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg‘s adventure Kon-Tiki. It is based on the true story of Thor Heyerdahl, a Norwegian ethnographer who set sail on a 4,300-mile journey on a Kon-Tiki raft – from South America to Polynesia on a balsa wood raft in order to prove his theory that previous settlers followed the same journey.
