In each episode or consecutive group of episodes (notably as Christmas season special), the expert team and some locals visit and present a remarkable British castle or other stately home. Each has his or her own angle, so the viewer gets relevant history and anecdotes on the building and its builders and residents -often one or more aristocratic families- as well as architecture, art and miscellaneous treasures, grounds, gardens and natural flora. Chef James Martin even prepares some recipes using typical ingredients from the region, which he also discovers on site. Written by
