I have reviewed a ton of independent shorts and my rule of thumb is to not review bad films in most cases. After all, the film makers are young and I am sure I couldn't do any better, so I certainly don't want to discourage them. However, after seeing CLARINET I will make an exception. The film consists of a long narrative by a depressed and deeply disturbed man as you see him going on about how life is meaningless.
To the people who made CLARINET---please stop making films--at least if you are going to continue making films like this one. Perhaps you intended some deeper meaning and significance, but I really don't care. Seeing and listening to an actor go on and on and on about how life sucks isn't my idea of entertainment or even enlightenment. The same goes with showing a closeup of a guy throwing up. Believe it or not, most people DON'T like seeing this! If you really ARE that depressed, get some help and stop making films that glorify your angst--dwelling on your misery just makes you more miserable. If you aren't that depressed, the film didn't seem funny or significant--just annoying and painful to watch.
