Short Aussie film
5 November 2006 | by See all my reviews

Strangely, I found this Australian short film on the DVD of the documentary "My Flesh and Blood". I didn't really see a big connection, but of course I decided to watch it anyway.

There isn't much talking in this film. It showed the lives of two girls, best friends, living in Australia some time ago - I believe the 1960s or something like that? One of them was of Asian descent, the other one was Caucasian, and themes of racism were carefully explored.

The film doesn't spell anything out, and definitely not with lines, but it seems to get its message across. I found it very sad. I thought it was nicely made and acted. I can't honestly say it was seriously enjoyable, but it was worth watching.
