If you like Martin Mull TV shows - you will like this one

For those who remember Martin Mull and Fred Willard on Fernwood Tonight, this video is much along the same lines of humor. If you enjoyed that show you will like this one. Prior to this, Mull was in Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman where he was so well liked that he was brought in to do the Fernwood Tonight show. I was about to give this video a 6 rating for its light humor, but then reconsidered that it deserves a little higher because that is exactly the intention of the show - light humor. You won't be rolling on the floor, but it is a pleasant hour spent nonetheless, enjoying skit comedy. He is joined by Fred Willard, Teri Garr and Jack Riley. This show takes place in North Ridgeville, Ohio. It is supposedly the early boyhood home of Martin Mull and the whole town comes out as audience along with the school marching band, cheer leaders and majorettes as well as the town mayor Floyd Peaco and some kind of grandma singers. I say supposed boyhood home because it all appears to be true, but you never know when Martin Mull is going to pull your leg. If it wasn't his real home town and the people in it, they sure fooled me. It was taped from a live show. In any case, it is in color and runs about an hour in Hi-Fi Dolby Stereo from HBO Video, and you will enjoy it if you like the humor of Martin Mull and Fred Willard. It is light fun. By the way, the show took place in 1988, so Mull would have been about 45 years old at the time.
