Remembered as a flop of its time slot (7 pm), losing in ratings for Record TV's Proof of Love (2005).
Creator Mário Prata was forced to drop out of the series due to health issues. Carlos Lombardi took over the show definitely. It was a sad turn for Prata, who took 16 years to finally see the project come to fruition.
Angelina Muniz was cast on creator Mário Prata's request. She had been working on different networks for the last 15 years before her role on this series.
Creator Mário Prata wrote his first drafts in 1987. Globo TV's then executive José Wilker approved the show, but Prata's contract would not be renewed. The project then pitched to SBT in 1990, who ultimately canceled it in favor of Brasileiras e Brasileiros (1990). Prata once again pitched the show to Band in 1995, which turned it down so Prata could write O Campeão (1996). Globo TV finally green lightened the series in 2005 - unfortunately, to be met with negative reception and poor ratings.
Creator Mário Prata handpicked Guilherme Berenguer and Danni Suzuki from Malhação (1995) for their roles.
