It's a cute short. Love the big guy in the yellow tie. YUM! The music fits the piece and everyone in the film is so beautiful, especially the Chinese girls.
It's an interesting idea, having a tapioca tea shop for a background, but it's the colors in this little short that really do it for me. The implied magic of drinking the tapioca balls up the straw is really cute, and the special effects are very clever. It's a very well done piece and Kaplan and Furer have done an excellent job.
You can tell it was shot on film, which adds just one more dimension to it.
Overall this should be a real winner in the festivals.
