David Gelb may be best known for his stunning documentary Jiro Dreams Of Sushi, but his next effort will be taking a decidedly darker route. Gelb’s feature length fiction debut, titled Reawakening, will star Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass as research students who happen to discover how to bring the dead back to life, or ‘reawaken’ them. Dawson wrote the 2008 American remake of Shutter and Slater is set to script the upcoming The Fantastic Four reboot.
Lionsgate are behind the scientific thriller which will be produced by Jason Blum via his Blumhouse banner. Blum is no stranger to horror thanks to his work on Paranormal Activity and Sinister. Here’s hoping that this will be a lot different than just a Zombie film.
