I expected so much more than I got. I was a struggle to watch one episode all the way through, and I couldn't take a second. Not only are the gags recycled constantly, but the variation is minimal (normally merely the location in which they occur). They weren't all the funny the first time, but by the third time it was just tragic.
It seems many programmes have lately been inspired by the run away success of Little Britain, but now in its third series, that too seems to be falling into the trap of repetition. The beauty of sketch shows such as Monty Python's Flying Circus lies in variety- a notion that current 'comic' writers seems to have overlooked. It's all very well having recognisable characters, but that does not mean they have to do the same thing week in week out.
With Spoons I got the feeling that having seen one episode, I wouldn't be missing anything new by not watching the rest.
