A unique talent, Demetri Martin is one of the hottest stand-up comics working today. His new special, Demetri Martin. Person. Inventive and insightful, this top-rated program brings the funny in ways you've never seen.
A comedy about loss, grief, and the redemptive power of love. Dean is a NY illustrator who falls hard for an LA woman while trying to prevent his father from selling the family home in the wake of his mother's death.
I came across this show a few years ago on BBC4, Unfortunately it was never released upon VHS or DVD, and it just blew me away.
I somewhat empathise with Demetri having minor compulsions myself and totally understand where he's coming from. This feels more like a motivational lecture than a stand-up and really made me think about myself.
I was astounded by his own genius and strangely impressed by his "useless talents" such as pen spinning, juggling and riding a unicycle. His use of mediums throughout the show really help draw attention and the overall structure of the show seemed to flow seamlessly without me ever wanting it to end.
Hilariously funny and thought out. Reminded me a lot of the style of Dave Gorman and i cannot praise this show enough, if you ever get the chance to see it please do not hesitate. You will not be disappointed.
