Die Wolke (The Cloud) is very realistically built film. It starts with quiet life in small town Schlitz. Two teenagers fall in love at the time of disaster at the local nuclear plant. The tension goes up when everybody's starting to escape. The other half of the film is more like romantic drama. So The Clous is like half thriller and half drama. The actors did well, the directing was good and story was interesting.
I haven't read the book so I can't compare the film to book, but it seems that people like to whine rather to enjoy film. I liked it a lot despite all the negative opinions. I liked it because of the reality.
I think that film is made more like warning of dangers of nuclear power. Even the tag line says: It can happen any day.
Good film though.
