Getting the green sword gets more personal than expected
8 December 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

There is not much I can add here in the shadow of Brian Camp's thorough and excellent review of this movie except to get my vote counted. I found the plot confusing in that Sek Kin was imprisoned for so long that it made no sense. Fact is, it really just does not make any sense at all that he would be locked up so long. The events in the movie would really have happened immediately. But that would not give Carter enough time to grow up and ruin the plot twist at the end. That being said, all that remains are the fights. Sek Kin has the stage presence to make any fight look better than average. At this point in Carter Wong's career he is good but good is his limit, he never achieved any greatness. Cliff Lok's acrobatics are under-used. The Polly versus Sek Kin fight is the high point of the movie. I can only rate it as slightly better than average for the year and genre.
