Over complicated storyline...
7 September 2006 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Well, what can I say... the summary of this comment kinda sums it all up. The story line was so mixed up on itself, the writers had no idea where to go with it. Plot holes and story lines were blurred to the extent that the audience will give up caring for the lead roles. There were too many twists and turns that seemed to drag on and on to an almost useless climax.

The fake animated blood in the action scenes distracted me enough to laugh off the whole film as real action movie as the director kept trying to develop some relationship between Connie (Jing Ning) and Nick (Ho-Yin Wong). Unfortunately both had slightly wooden emotionless styles which I guess was meant to fit the characters, but again distracted me to the point of disliking them.

The slightly redeeming character in the plot was Ting Yip Ng who played "Big Brother". Constantly eating, he at least looks like he is having some sort of good time - not taking the role too seriously and just doing his bit when he has to.

The final shot is also confusingly included in the version I watched as one of the characters is arrested and led away... There really was no point to it..! Other than that, I would recommend to check if something else is on the box, then watch that instead. Rent or download it if you really want to. I wouldn't suggest a purchase unless you really want to be confused.
