You could pretend you don’t know what a porn parody is, but we’ve all seen them. Or at least, er, heard of them. They’ve existed for almost as long as pornography itself: a (sometimes incredibly) loose remake of a film or television show as performed by adult film actors and featuring a plot that always, without fail, leads to two or more characters getting it on.
Whereas parodies used to come up with punnerific titles like Buffy the Vampire Layer or The Witches of Breastwick, now the studios are far more content just to use the name of the thing their parodying, followed by XXX: A Porn Parody, just in case someone might thing the low-budget Spider-Man movie starring a bunch of scantily-clad people they’ve never heard of was the real thing.
But knowing that you’re about to watch smut isn’t the same...

The killer robots of Westworld mixed with the slasher format of a Friday the 13th movie added up to producer Roger Corman’s 1986 cult horror Chopping Mall, which boasted the tagline ‘Where shopping can cost you an arm and a leg.’ Chopping Mall director Jim Wynorski went on to produce and direct a series of porn spin-offs like The Bare Wench Project and The Witches of Breastwick; often working under numerous pseudonyms including H.R. Blueberry and Salvadore Ross. Wynorski was not mentioned in the Variety report of producer and filmmaker Robert Hall of Dry County Entertainment announcing his plans for the Chopping Mall remake, although one can hope for a cameo by the exploitation veteran.
