Major Rule of thumb when ever the great Mark Kermode give's a film an absolute panning and many other film critics don't. i watch it, because he's wants to look contrarian to all the others. "Hay I'm Mark Kermode, I'm different to all the rest, the Exorcist rocks my world"

Just watched it and what a film.......what an artumentary -- a combination of beautiful images with music and interesting excerpts. i don't want to get all arty farty about it but my goshhhhhhhhh it was so good. everything from the way it was shot, to ZZ skills, the crowd, the stadium and noise in a game. it is a true artistic text, an artistic statement way more than a your traditional sport-bio movie. and now for my arty farty review of it.

“Art is the pursuit, not the result.” for those who were more interested in the game and struggled with the intangible nature of the football art forms as painted by zidane. Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait shows the paradox, from the Platonic Realms. Platonic realism holds that universals do exist in a broad, abstract sense, although not at any spatial or temporal distance from people's bodies. Thus, people cannot see or otherwise come into sensory contact with universals, but in order to conceive of universals, one must be able to conceive of these abstract forms of the angle and the devil within the genius and insanity of the greatest football player of his generation.

Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait is a canvas that takes you away from the normal television images of a football game and the real time portrait of zidane was deeper than just watching a player in a match, The intent is to show more then the basic appearance of the person, this went into artistic insight into his personality. The film its not about the match or football, its a video portrait that captures a reality of its subject more then painting or photograph can ever achive. The digital artistic representation of the angle and the devil within the zidane iconography is the film most comprehensive feature and a ture mould braking total filmic and sensory experience. Zidane from a standing start, then raced through the midfield to sets up the majestic equalizer, was a master piece of documentary filmmaking that shows one of the his footballing predatory instincts. It was just like a lion pouncing upon an unsuspecting prey.

Not for nothing but it was a digital HD lowryesc 21th century portrait of matchstalk men and women at the football. Zidane standing in front of a crowd of many faces, capturing the activity in and around the stadium and the long shots from the air, pitch side and in row Z showing the little lowry figures on the pitch and in the Bernabéu Stadium
