Close but not enough inches for Tennesse! Rams win!
"Super Bowl XXXIV" would turn out to be one of the better ones played in recent memory as the game would go down to the wire. It featured the surprise and upstart NFC champion St. Louis Rams coached by legendary Dick Vermil they had rode the miracle arm all season long of Kurt Warner against the AFC champ Tennesse Titans who had rode the workhorse legs of RB Eddie George and mirrored their tough and gritty coach Jeff Fisher so well. The game would start with the Titans defense putting on a lot of pressure it slowed the Rams offense. Even though that Kurt Warner would throw for 277 1st half pass yards the Rams would only take a 9-0 halftime lead yet the defense would have held Eddie George to only 30 yards rushing. The second half would prove to be a classic going into the final quarter tied at 16-16. It would then be broken up when game MVP Kurt Warner would throw a 73 yard TD pass to Issac Bruce to go ahead 23-16. The Titans would get the ball back and drive far down field yet only a pass completion to WR Kevin Dyson would come close, but fall short as he was tackled at the one yard line! Close call and great Super Bowl Rams win 23-16!!
