The package I ordered from Rome. They imported it from Africa. It's a hand-craved mask, it's supposed to represent the goddess of fertility. I thought we could use all the help we could get.

Far from a dream movie but nowhere near a nightmare.
Popular (among horror fans anyway) scream queen Tiffany Shepis is really the only "known" face in this cast but certainly has enough fan-pleasing moments to . . . . . well . . . . keep fans pleased.
To begin at a purely shallow level, Nightmare Man throws in a fair amount of gratuitous nudity and near-nudity, some decent gore moments and a surprising number of effective scares throughout the duration.
Cinematically, it's pretty risible but for a low-budget, low-aiming horror movie it provides the genre goods and even does rather well within it's obvious limitations. The acting was never going to be top-notch, the clichés abound and any attempt at intelligence is far outweighed by a multitude of dumb moments. Yet the fact that there ARE any attempts at intelligence, given the basic plot, was enough to impress me.
The plot sees a young woman traumatised by nightmares in which she is chased by a demon who wears the African fertility mask she purchased for the benefit of herself and her husband. After running out of gas in the middle of nowhere (yep, THAT old chestnut), the hubby goes to find a nearby gas station while the wife is left to face her ultimate fear as the Nightmare Man manifests himself and chases her through the woods, where they happen upon a remote cabin currently occupied by four horny guys and gals. You can imagine how the rest begins to pan out, with a rising bodycount and shrinking plausibility.
It's a fun movie with some decent moments and easily pleased genre fans like myself will just be happy to see Tiffany Shepis trying to kick ass while showing off her own. Sometimes all you need in a feature movie.
