Storyline

On a wintry weekend, three young adults reunite to decide to help their terminally-ill mother die, and in doing so they find themselves arguing bitterly about whether they blame her for their father's death years ago. Compelled to recall the tragic accident their versions contradict one another as we see each one's memory of the events leading up to the death. For the first time, each is forced to confess their own feelings of responsibility for the accident and, in doing so, they finally realize the truth. At the weekend's close, liberated from the guilt that has oppressed each of them for years, they are able to release their mother from her pain. Written by Olympia Films

A touching story that is well told
4 October 2006 | by (Malta) – See all my reviews

The film is well told, well written, brilliantly acted and the photography is excellent. Death and life are quite sensitive subjects but the film-maker has managed to create such a beautiful piece of work, that is touching and not patronizing. The story evolves slowly as secrets are revealed at every turn keeping you at the edge of the seat. It is also a film about truth and the perception of truth and finally the audience will be immersed into that long life problem of dealing with truth... as we are confronted with a hard decision... what would we have done if we were in their place??? I would say that the movie is a little stradivarius made out of matchsticks.

The budget is nothing wow but the director was creative enough to solve many problems and create a very touching story.

The director of photography must also be mentioned for his work is magical.

I highly recommend this film. You wont regret it.
