Claire has been knocked out with a bat and left in the pool, she's in a coma. Cheryl and Willemyn promise to take care of everything, especially for daughter Merel. Anouk grudgingly asks her former lover, police detective Debussy, to take a 'second pool case' after hours, but he only finds it couldn't be Max. As if Willemyn's divorce hysteria wasn't bad enough for Evert, whose hotel bill becomes excessive, son Roderick admits he had probably unsafe sex with Tippi Wan. She only got a tenth of the 100,00Euros she asked Evert so that she could return to Bangkok, but she stayed. Tippi is meanwhile engaged by Cheryl, mainly as companion now that Martin doesn't dare to get physical while she's pregnant. Cheryl refuses Tom's demands to leave Martin for the baby and marry, or even to get a DNA test; after talking to Evert, both fathers try again to rekindle their fertile marriages.

Claire is released from hospital, but home is a lonely place. She pretends her daughter Merel, in fact in jail for the murder attempt, is at boarding school, and gets Willemyn to foot a 6.000 Euro monthly 'board' bill. Willemyn is miserably lonely now Evert is sleeping with Diane in the garden shed. Willemyn fails to break up with him, then tries to dump the young daughters on him for an unexpected 'dad day'. They can go without her care better then she expected. Anouck admits after two weeks she won't make it being a real mother for Vlinder and forgo sex, so after the kids got up and made breakfast before going to school alone, Anouck starts interviewing for a live-in au-pair. Grudgingly she accepted an experienced woman the girl preferred, but left confirming too late, so she can hire the young, hunky Juriaan, from the very well-reputed van Landschot Troost family. Tippi Wan starts to milk her own pregnancy in order to be spoiled by (also expectant) Cheryl, who needs companionship as lingerie still fails to get husband Martin frisky.

Now her ex Evert even makes a trip to Milan with his mistress Diana van der Kieft, housemother Willemijn decides to start living as a spoiled single, and expects her friends to help her get started, especially free spirit Anouk, who is however more interested in her daughter's new au-pair Jurriaan, who she wanted to get rid of till she believed him to be gay but turns out ideal and interested in-living lover-material for herself. Cheryl worries more about her philandering husband Martin who by buying a flashy new car attracts the undesirable attention of tax inspector Van Dijk, which problem is surprisingly removed by the sneaky, fake-pregnant thieving Thai maid Tippi-Wan they took in after Anouk threw her out. To face her bills, Claire takes in rich wheelchair patient Ernst.

Because his latest record release was slow, Martin has accepted to become the star in a reality soap. Cheryl worries about her privacy, but it's his adulterous affair they film. Tom has to sign a visits agreement for Vlinder with Anouk Verschuur, who is now 'doing' in-living Jurriaan and presents him to her parents as the love of her life. Claire delivers for Ernst's fat monthly contribution but is found having lied to be childless when she brushes off Willemyn for a visit to Merel, all the way in Zutfen; she goes with Anouck instead, and finds out it's no boarding 'finishing school' but a jail and what the minx did, yet takes her side and regrets paying Claire on false pretenses. Ernst's compassion gets him sexually rewarded.

Evert finally realizes his girl friend Diane is just too young for him, so he's furious when Willemyn seems to fall for Louis, an elder gentleman who tried to intervene when her purse was snatched. Cherryl is at the end of her wits, suffering from pregnancy, almost knowing Martin is unfaithful again and his common mother moving in unannounced 'for a few weeks'; when Martin -who actually feels guilt- cancels their pregnancy yoga class, unable to shake off his floozy, Tom goes with her. Anouk turns 40, just after Jurriaan walked out on her, but tells everyone she's decided to stop celebrating ('36' for years), but when she meets Louis too finds back her taste for life, even when Willemyn suspects he's really just after their money. Claire gets a last hefty sum out of her wheelchair-lodger before he leaves to Switzerland for a new treatment.

Merel has been released from juvenile prison and claims to be reformed. Mother Claire is in no way inclined to believe her or to take her back. Anouck supposedly takes the girl under her dubious wing but only has eyes and erogenous zones for hunky barman Jeffrey. Starved for male companionship and desperate to make Evert jealous, Wilemyn passes her common plumber Jan Jaap for a romantic lover. Cheryl is ever more frustrated with boorish Martin who can't understand she accepted writing a magazine column as a challenge, alas above her abilities.

Dr. Rossi tells Tipi Wan the Christmas season depresses him as his patients turn to the church rather than therapy. Cheryl has an early Christmas child, but with Tom acting as birth coach. Martin is doing his jealous floozy, who throws a dangerous tantrum in the car while the first-ever father (he thinks, at least) drives to hospital. Anouk's ex Hugo, now a married museum official, convinces her to make a replacement 'stat' for a vandalized sculpture, but she allows herself to be seduced by a well-endowed model, Roderick's mate Bart-Jan, who claims to be 22, but turns out to be Hugo's 17 year-old son. After Roderick is caught shoplifting, Willemyn comes down like a ton of bricks and blames Evert, the response helps her realize their divorce may be the root-cause.
