I really enjoyed this movie!, 3 December 2005

I like a movie that is funny, romantic and provides a pleasant break from reality! This movie fits the bill. There is very good chemistry between the two main characters, and it's a pleasure to watch them with each other. I found myself smiling a lot.

It took me awhile to figure out who the female lead was.. (Okay, I never could figure it out.. I had to come to this site to look her name up and see what other things she was in... well, to my surprise.. she was on "That 70's Show"!)

This movie, to be sure, was light and fluffy, no big complications that stress you out.. I just had a good time! I would watch it again!

Soap Hunk and sitcom star plus Princess Leia=fun!, 3 December 2005
10/10
Author: hilljayne from United States

Romancing the Bride stars Laura Prepon of "That '70s Show" as a young woman who chooses a Mexican resort hotel as the place to get married. She wakes up the morning of her wedding day in bed with a stranger and a hangover. He's a Mexican hottie, played by former Days Of Our Lives star Matt Cedeno, who is glad to be hitched to her. She takes off on a wild march to find out how it happened and to undo it before her fiancé, not to mention her controlling mom (played brilliantly by Carrie Fisher), learn about it. It's an amusing little adventure, if not a great movie, and a chick flick that should appeal to the channel's female audience. It isn't trying to change the world or make a point, just an entertaining little made for TV movie. The film does seem uneven at times in the editing but the strong cast makes it work. In addition, Matt and Laura have a lot of chemistry together.

Pleasant diversion., 12 January 2008

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. There's no unnecessary buildup to the plot line; it gets going right after the credits. Prepon, from That 70s Show, is not much different from her character on the show. It will be interesting to see if she turns out to be more than a one note actress.

There are some unbelievable moments (beside the whole premise of the movie): like changing clothes with handcuffs on. How does one pull a top over their head with cuffs on!?!? Things like that really annoy me.

Carrie Fiaher's character is laugh out loud funny as 'The Ugly American' in another country. The leading male character is a good looking and funny actor.

This was a pretty good romantic comedy. After reading some of the other reviews I almost skipped this one but I'm glad I didn't.

Good enough for theaters!, 5 October 2007

When on a whim I thought I'd look up the trivia for this movie on IMDb and I saw that it had a standing rating of a measly 6 stars my heart sunk.

This movie was incredible! It was filled with perhaps the most memorable one-liners, the funniest "villians", and the most unbelievable break downs imaginable. Not to mention one of the hunkiest pieces of man meat I have ever had the pleasure of watching for an hour and some odd minutes jump through cinema hoops.

This movie had me laughing, crying, and kept me guessing through the entire thing. Sit down with your significant other, your sister, your brother, your mother, your father, your best friend, your puppy, kitty, or stuffed animal named Paul, I don't know...just WATCH IT.

Funny! Carrie Fisher rocks!, 8 September 2007
10/10

This is a great movie - I bought it as soon as the DVD was released! The main characters are great and believable - but Carrie Fisher makes this movie! As mother of the bride she is over the top and hysterically funny! The stuff she does is just crazy - who would think of telling their future son-in-law that his bride is out having "vaginal rejuvenation" to work out her stress? She is funny, sarcastic and waaaayyyyyy over the top! It's a great love story without her - with her and her dramatics - makes it a great and funny movie. The romance is pretty hot as well, Matt and Laurie really bring it on and there's definitely chemistry between them - and Matt is totally hot and lucky us, takes off his shirt and gets wet as well. Even my mom loved this movie when she borrowed it - I was lucky to get my DVD back! I guess I'll have to buy her her own copy!

A wonderfully entertaining movie...., 30 April 2006

I really enjoyed this movie. The cast is wonderful and seem to work well together. Laura and Matt definitely have great on screen chemistry. I love it when Mellissa attacks the cop and takes off only to end up in crocodile infested waters. Carrie had me laughing throughout the whole movie! (I originally watched this because she was in it, now I'd watch it again for the movie itself.) My favorite line from this movie is when Edwina(Fisher)says: "Are you trying to tell me you got loaded and laid the day before your wedding, who do you think you are, Me?" I also love how Edwina stops Bryan from telling his parents the wedding is off. I have to give Mellissa's sister some credit for threatening to make it her mission in life to marry a Mexican man if her mother didn't let Carlos go. If you like light romantic comedies, then this is the perfect movie for you.

Great Entertainment, 29 January 2007

Had no idea how I was going to like this film, but as soon as I starting watching a bride losing her memory and winding up in bed with another guy, I was glued to the TV. Matt Cederio, (Carlos), gave an outstanding performance as one of Jennifer Drohan,(Claire) lovers and handcuffed to him after a so called one night stand. There is plenty of drama and comedy and Carrie Fisher, (Edwina) gave a great supporting role with all kinds of sexy language to go along with her lines. This is truly a very entertaining film and had me laughing through out the entire film. Matt Cederio certainly is a very handsome guy and if the gals like a real HUNK this is the GUY.

Excellent romance story, 22 February 2006

Hmmm...Who wouldn't want to wake up next to a Mexican hot-tie. I thought the movie was very good. Love at first sight. I really think the actor/s were also right on the mark. They seemed to have a connection. It was believable that they fell in love right away. I do like the ending. All romances should end that way. I think the movie is defiantly worth seeing. This is the first movie I've seen on oxygen. I think they really know how to judge a woman's movie. Also, Matt is on my favorite soap, Days. So looking at his bod is fine by me. I think he does an excellent job portraying a guy who just found the love of his life and doesn't want to let go. Carrie fisher is also funny in the movie. She plays an overbearing and racist mother who is bent on protecting her daughter's future. This, in despite of her daughter wanting to do her own thing in the end.

when can I add this to my collection?, 12 January 2006

I absolutely loved this movie. The mother was a little too over the edge for me but I thought the rest was wonderful. I hope this will be shown again soon and often. It was great, creative, and touching. Laura and Matt gave excellent performances. It was truly a great story, the two actors had excellent chemistry. They really sold the emotions of the characters. When will this movie be available to purchase? I definitely could see this movie over and over again. I'm going to definitely tell my friends and family all about this movie. I loved it. I also love to watch It's a Different World and Living Single; boy oh boy does Oxygen have really great taste in programming.

romantic comedy plus Carrie Fisher = a lot of laughs, 14 September 2006

Carrie had me laughing throughout the whole movie! (I originally watched this because she was in it, now I'd watch it again for the movie itself.) I love romantic comedies and Carrie Fisher, so the two together it's like WHOA!! The plot was really good...Melisa married a total stranger the day before her wedding and she has to get the whole thing like annulled, and she has this control freak mother, Edwina (who is played by Carrie Fisher) who is like in freak mode the entire movie. In the end she chooses to leave Bryan (her fiancé) and go with Carlos. I loved the part where Edwina says:"Nothingis impossible. It's just possible with I M in front of it. You see I-M possible." I often use that when people say things are impossible!!
