stars: Steve "Loretta" Swit as Kermit the frog, Davie Bird, Porkfat the pig, Beaker, Mr. Poodlepants and others.
David Goelz as Gonzo the great, Waldorf, Bueregard, Randy pig, Bunsen Hunnydew and others. I remember when it came out that there was a long wait during loading times. Before long this had gonzo launching himself out of a cannon, then our ears were met with a loud crash. I soon heard on the news that the gonzo puppet had done damage to the set when it was launched, they then took the break to fix the set. gonzo never launched out of a cannon again on the show. does any one else remember this. this was a classic Muppet piece of art better then that crappy NBC Muppet Christmas movie. they should release this as a DVD set with the full series and never before aired footage and episodes. it lived up to the Muppet show if it wasn't better
Eddy Donno Meyerson as Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, Sam the eagle, Dickie Walrus and Animal.
Monty Stickles as Lew Zealand, Statler, Announcer, Floyd Pepper(2 episodes only) and others.
Bill Barretta as Johnny Parrakeet, Pepe the prawn, Numbtusk, Rowlf(2 episodes only) and others.
Kevin Clash as Clifford, a Jamaican businessman.
Mortie Henson as Madame Porkbeak, Dr. Van Neuter and Sal Manilla.
The new version of the Muppet Show twenty years later. The new host of the show is Clifford, a Jamaican businessman, but Kermit still puts it all together. Like the original, it had a new guest every week that participated in the zaniness, and still, the crank Statler and Waldorf and in the balcony. The show mostly focuses on new characters, with the only main characters on this that returned from the original were Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie, Madame Porkbeak, Statler and Waldorf, Beuregard, Sam the eagle, Bunsen and Beaker, Animal(who returned even though the rest of the band is pretty much gone) and Porkfat the pig. Good show, but not great.
If you're a fan of the old Muppet show from the '70s and the '80s, you'll like this game! If only Frank Oz could be alive to see it. I'm sure he'd like it too. It was not about your usual children's puppet game; it was light hearted entertainment that was well written and had guest star roles that perhaps some of the most well established entertainment games couldn't get a hold of considering it's marketing. I had always wondered what had happened to this brilliant game; am I only one of a few who thought this?
All our old favorites are here. Kermit, Madame Porkbeak, Gonzo, Miss Piggy, Piggy Porkfat and a new guy: the host, Clifford, a Jamaican businessman. I remember one level where Jamie Lee Curtis guest starred and reenacted the scene from Blue Steel where she delivers the calf with Kermit and Fozzie. During the delivery scene, Ms. Curtis gets dowsed with a bucketful of afterbirth! I'll never forget that part, it's so funny!
This was a pretty good game. It's not around anymore. It didn't even get ported to the Playstation format, because, one line of the theme song goes: "we got a game for you, guaranteed brand new". Which singles out ports to other platforms I guess. Those of you who remember this game, you know what I'm talking about. That it was a great one!
