X-Force Film Gets A Director & Reynolds To Co-Write

Cb is reporting that an inside source has found a director for the future X-Force film, and don't expect to be blown away with his resume. Joe Carnahan has been hired, likely due to the fact that he will willingly work with Ryan Reynolds. Carnahan is best know for directing, producing, and writing the screenplay for The Grey. In addition, he directed Smokin' Aces, The A-Team, 3 episodes of The Blacklist, and Stretch, and also wrote a video short that sounds delicious named Taco Heaven.

Both Carnahan and Ryan Reynolds will co-write the movie, and with Deadpool 2 expected to arrive in 2018, one could assume a 2020 release date, but no further information has been given. At this point, all that is known about the actors appearing in the movie is that Ryan Reynolds will star in it.

Cable and Domino are set to appear in Deadpool 2, so considering they are

X-Force Movie Finds Director and Adds Ryan Reynolds as Co-Writer

  • Cinelinx
Fox has already started laying down the groundwork for the standalone X-Force movie by hiring a Director and Co-Writers!  Learn more after the jump!

Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool made such a huge impact on 20th Century Fox's superhero landscape that they're bringing the man behind the mask to co-write the X-Force movie.  Writing alongside Reynolds will be co-writer and director Joe Carnahan, according to sources reporting to Comicbook.com.

If the new X-Force director's name sounds familiar it's because he recently wrapped up the screenplay for Sony's Uncharted film adaptation.  Furthermore, he has directing and writing experience from such movies as The A-Team, Smokin' Aces, and the upcoming Bad Boys For Life movie, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

It makes sense for Reynolds to be close to the X-Force project, as his Deadpool sequel is looking to introduce two members of the X-Force team in Cable and Domino.  Plus,

How Common Prepared For John Wick: Chapter 2 & Gives Awesome Green Lantern Tidbit

Common, born Lonnie Rashid Lynn, has come quite a long way since I first remember him rapping in the 90s. Not to say that his music career is something to sneeze at, in fact he won an Oscar, Golden Globe, and a Grammy for his collaboration with John Legend on the song "Glory" in the movie Selma. However, Common has more recently been stretching out his acting wings, and he has been quite proficient in his roles.

I did not even realize that he played in Hell On Wheels, until I saw the opening credits around the mid point of season one. He also played in American Gangster, Terminator Salvation, Smokin' Aces, Wanted, and Street Kings. Oh, and let's not forget his "lengthy" role in Suicide Squad where he learned that looking at Harley Quinn is not the best idea in the world. One thing you may notice about these films,

My Entertainment World have listed the film as firing up in late spring 2017 (which usually means around May) and Columbia is said to be the place where

Bad Boys 3: Writer-Director Carnahan Reveals Why You Can't Miss This Threequel

  • LRM Online
I've always thought of Joe Carnahan as an under-appreciated talent. Films like Narc and The Grey have shown that the man knows how to write and direct tense, hard-hitting thrills. Even The A-Team I felt was unfairly beaten up by critics- which contributed to its unfortunate box office performance. To me, A-Team was unapologetically over the top, and not meant to be taken particularly seriously. It was a testosterone-fueled popcorn action extravaganza that, for some reason, critics expected to be something more. To borrow an analogy I used earlier this year, it was a slurpee.

Anyway, I think Carnahan may have found just the right vehicle for his skill set. It'll allow him to create the kind of macho action spectacle he likes to make, and give him access to characters and actors that have enough chemistry and star power to make the material fly. Not to mention, it's a

In an exclusive report by Variety, Carnahan talks about his excitement for joining the project and dispels rumors of directing the film.

In a perfect world I would love to do both, but right now, I’m only on board to write the script,”

“Archaeology today is in itself an antiquity, but that world has always fascinated me. Especially when you go to a museum today and wonder

'Bad Boys 3' Director Teases Freeway Motorcycle Chase

Bad Boys 3 is happening in a big way, and it promises to take the action over the top. While he hasn't been officially confirmed to direct yet by Sony Pictures, action maestro Joe Carnahan is already in the previsualization stage for the movie, and is now teasing a freeway chase involving a motorcycle on his official Twitter page. This may be all the confirmation we need that the man behind such action favorites as Smokin' Aces, The Grey and the big screen A-Team adaptation is joining forces with returning stars Martin Lawrence and Will Smith. Though, he won't reveal the identity of the man on the motorcycle, only saying this.

"...who is this man? ...and how bad is he?"

Sony announced last year that Bad Boys 3 will arrive on February 17, 2017, with Bad Boys 4 set for July 3, 2019. During a radio interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra this past week,

Taskmaster Rights Revert To Marvel Studios

It looks like one Marvel character which was residing over at 20th Century Fox has now jumped back over to the stable at Disney & Marvel Studios - Taskmaster.

Talking about the recent "Deadpool" trailer again this week with Empire, that film's director Tim Miller seemed to suggest that the character is no longer a part of Fox's stable of Marvel characters like the X-Men and Fantastic Four:

"I'd love to see Deadpool fight Batman - no, I'm just kidding, that's not even in the Marvel family! I'd love to see Deadpool go up against Taskmaster who's another Marvel total f--kin' badass. But if I was to stay inside the Fox family, I would like to see him fight X-23, the female Wolverine. The female clone of Wolverine."

Heroic Hollywood followed-up on those comments with their sources who "confirmed to me that the character rights no longer lie with 20th Century Fox.
