Why not? She's 40 and Vanessa is 21. But that's not the point.
The point is whether Mariah wants to be seen as a 40-year-old mom in a new movie about a mother/daughter singing duo who audition for an "American Idol" kind of show.
It could be a little more than the Diva can handle. Carey, who received good reviews for her small role in "Precious," is reported to be considering teaming up with the "High School Musical" cutie for the flick.
And it sounds like a Dream Team. So what's the hold up?
The only sticking point seems to be whether Mariah feels comfortable playing the mom of a teenager. She's reportedly a little sensitive when it comes to her age.
She could always use Sofia Vergara's excuse. But despite the annoying maternal business, it's possible that Mariah may just succumb to the temptation. »

Simon Cowell gave us plenty of stuffing on ITV as the BBC offered sport without personality, while an engaging BBC4 film tackled Nabokov's troubling obsession, says Phil Hogan
The week before Christmas is always what you might call a yawning chasm, with schedulers correctly assuming that everybody will be out shopping or being sick on the train so what's the point of wasting perfectly good programmes that will do nicely on Boxing Day evening with a white sauce?
Of course, there wasn't literally nothing on. The biggest slow-burner of the season went bang on Sunday night courtesy of The X Factor final, with young dreamers Olly and Joe still holding to the idea that you can have anything you want just by wanting it, which is a novelty to those of us who remember when "I want never gets" was the nation's favourite article of faith. But which of the boys wanted it most? »

Orson Welles will probably forever be considered one, if not the best directors to ever live. His Citizen Kane and The Magnificent Ambersons are considered to be two of the greatest films ever made. Not only was he an amazing director, but also an accomplished actor and in theater, film and radio. Me And Orson Welles picks him up as he forms the Mercury theater and the longest running Broadway version of Caesar.
I was initially turned off by this film simply because it starred Zac Efron and an unknown Christian McKay who is portraying Welles. After watching the trailer I figured I would set aside all of my negativity towards Mr High School Musical and go in with an open mind… not to mention I used to have a mad crush on Claire Danes. I came out with a huge smile on my face and a feeling of disappointment »
