Remember When Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens Were Disney Channel's King and Queen?

8 June 2017 2:45 PM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

If you grew up watching Disney Channel in the early '00s, then you probably had (and still have) strong opinions about Zanessa (aka Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens). In 2006, Zac and Vanessa, who were respectively 17 and 16 at the time, sang their way into our hearts with their roles in High School Musical, and it wasn't long after that they took onscreen romance to real heights. With their movie franchise propelling them to superstardom, it didn't take long for them to become the It couple of the Disney Channel. While we all held a candle for Zac and those gorgeous blue eyes, the pair's giggly dates to basketball games and lovey-dovey, Pda-filled red carpet appearances, made their young love hard to resist. Even though their relationship came to an end in 2010, their romance will always hold a special place in our tweenage hearts. RelatedHigh School Musical: Where Are the Stars Now? »

Tony Nominee Eva Noblezada On ‘Miss Saigon,’ Vocal Care, and Self-Esteem

31 May 2017 1:30 PM, PDT | backstage.com | See recent Backstage news »

At age 21, Eva Noblezada has accomplished what most thespians her age dream of: a Tony Award nomination! For her stunning work as Kim in this spring’s West-End-to-Broadway production of “Miss Saigon,” Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg’s Vietnam War epic, Noblezada joins the ranks of musical theater leading ladies before her—including Lea Salonga, the original, award-winning Kim. Not long after a casting director saw the North Carolina–based Noblezada perform at New York City’s 2013 National High School Musical Theatre Awards (a.k.a. the Jimmy Awards), she auditioned for and booked the London revival of “Miss Saigon.” At age 17, having never left the country, she found herself headlining a West End hit. As she put it, “Crazy how things end up turning out!” The actor (and blogger!) also pointed out that “insecurity will always peek through the door.” Backstage chatted with Noblezada about dealing with those self-esteem issues while in the limelight, »

Movie Review: Baywatch

26 May 2017 8:15 AM, PDT | CinemaNerdz | See recent CinemaNerdz news »

Grab your watercrafts and crackers, folks! We’re on our way to CheesyTown, and the first stop is Emerald Bay. To begin, let’s get one thing out of the way, you needn’t be a seasoned Baywatch vet to enjoy the new big-screen incarnation. Being born pre-1989 is not a prerequisite to claim your love for The Bay. Will it help? Perhaps, from a nostalgia standpoint. The same level of cheese is spread thick in both the time-honored show and the brand-new film. The jokes will be new, though. And there is a heck of a lot more pubic and genitalia humor, thanks to the R-rating they’ve procured this time around.

But Baywatch isn’t the kind of post-tv show reboot that mandates hours of binge-watching several syndicated seasons worth of plot to understand what’s going on in the subsequent film. Nope; no need. Do you enjoy jiggling body parts? »

Baywatch – Review

25 May 2017 8:23 PM, PDT | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

Baywatch begins so promisingly! Dwayne Johnson as Mitch Buchannon, chief lifeguard of Baywatch, dives into treacherous waters to rescue a drowning parasailer. He then rises from the water grinning ear-to-ear as dolphins leap in the background and the movie’s title, sculpted in stone, rises from the ocean. This opening sets a perfectly silly tone but one that the film can’t maintain as things slowly go downhill from there. Don’t’ get me wrong –  Baywatch is good, and I’ll be seeing it again opening weekend, but it’s a far cry from the masterpiece I think we were all expecting. Time to silence that Oscar buzz.

The elements are here for epic summer indulgence – vulgar comedy, explosive action, a dream cast, a vamping Bollywood superstar, cameos from the TV show’s original stars, and a sea of fine bikinied bottoms. So how do they screw up the big-screen Baywatch reboot? »

Slowly but surely Zac Efron is turning into the kind of superstar that everyone assumed he would be.  It was looking a little lost for him for a while after his initial fame from High School Musical but ever since Efron announced that he had gotten control over his drinking, he’s been a new man.  I feel like he’s one good performance away from being an A-lister.  I would say that technically he’s an A-lister right now but it’s more in a Dwayne Johnson kind of a way, which is certainly no bad thing.  Efron gets all the “hot guy

Why Rehearsals for Baby’s Soaring Dirty Dancing Lift Made Abigail Breslin Feel Like a ‘Toddler’

The chance to play Baby in ABC’s small-screen reimagining of Dirty Dancing was dream gig for Abigail Breslin — but even more so for her mother.

Dirty Dancing is my mom’s No. 1 favorite movie. She actually used to say, ‘I would die if you could play Baby one day.’ When I got it, she was the first person I called,” Breslin shares in People’s special collector’s edition about the 1987 film favorite.

Breslin, 21, admits it was sometimes less dreamy to master her moves with newcomer Colt Prattes, who plays bad boy dancer Johnny to Breslin’s Baby.
