What was the point?

This has to be one of the most pointless films I have ever seen. It shows a postman ascending a flight of half-dozen stairs to the front door of a house and ringing its bell then delivering mail to the person who answers the door. The door closes, the postman descends the stairs and exits stage left and the camera dwells on the house for a few seconds before the film ends. And that's it, all filmed by a static camera positioned in front of the house. Perhaps this is a fragment of a longer film. If it's not, then surely the directors could have dreamed up something a little more inventive and interesting to shoot. This is a poor film, even by primitive film-making standards.
