Originally the show was going to travel to Portland, Oregon in its first season, but the producers had already received so much footage from the three previous cities they visited that the Portland trip ended up being canceled.
The Discovery Channel originally planned to premiere the series on 1 October 2005 but due to scheduling constraints the show was pushed back to 27 December 2005 instead.
Originally the show was to be centered on collectors who bring pieces from their Post-1960s Pop Culture related collections to be appraised before cameras, similar to the PBS show Antique's Roadshow. The collectors then would have the option of keeping or selling the items on eBay for profit once their segment has aired. Some collector's homes and full collections were also to be spotlighted. This concept was changed mid-way through production to the simpler "look back" show format similar to the Food Network cable channel's Unwrapped.
