Storyline

The Web of Shadows concerns the return of the heroic Toa to Metru Nui. There, they find an old enemy has overtaken the great city with the help of Visorak--robotic spiders that can quickly encase anything or anybody in near-indestructible webs. The Toa undergo a bizarre metamorphosis while sealed within strange cocoons, and emerge as clunky-looking machines made up of mismatched parts. Though horrified, they find that they also possess some new powers, which prove essential for their subsequent journey to restore Metru Nui--and themselves. This delightful Bionicle installment is probably easily accessible for any viewer unfamiliar with the series to date. Written by Anthony Pereyra {hypersonic91@yahoo.com}

Did You Know?

Trivia

When a Keelerak spider reports to Sidorak, the latter pronounces its name as "Kollorak". This name even appears in the movie's subtitles, although it was not an official Bionicle name, which lead many fans to think that it was just Sidorak's voice actor mispronouncing the word Keelerak. Several years after the release of this movie, Bionicle comic and book author Greg Farshtey cleared up this inconsistency by explaining that "Kollorak" was the name of this specific Keelerak spider. Goofs

In a lot of shots, the leg movements of the Visorak don't match up to their walking speed, so their feet are sliding across the ground very noticeably. See more »

just as good as the 1st two and a bit better in some respects
10 June 2007 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

this 3rd movie in the "Bionicle" series is pretty good entry.just like the 2nd one is as good as the 1st,this one is as good as the 2nd.i really like the fact that the villain is very strong in this one and quite malevolent.more so than the two previous entries.the action is also pretty good,plus we have some double crossing,backstabbing going on to elevate the proceedings.i also like the wise old sage.i thought he was very likable.another thing i like is the different kinds of creatures in this one.as well,this movie is quite a bit darker in tone than the first two.there is more of a sense of danger and jeopardy.the other two lacked that element at least to a certain extent.the only other real complaint i have with this installment is that there were a few too many lulls in the story,with not enough going on.other than that i enjoyed it.i give Bionicle" 3:Web of Shadows" a 7/10
