The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

1/10

Two men visit a bar. There, we see a man and woman kiss (in the backround, blured) through the entire scene. A man asks for some money to pay one of the women, as she laughs at him, him laughing as well, awaiting his return (the woman can barely be seen).

The scene listed above is blured and is extremely brief. It is so smokey that it could be a bar.

Violence & Gore

7/10

A man falls down a hole, landing on his back and groaning in pain.

Two men are killed in separate mining accidents

A man is slapped around many times and choked.

A boy slaps and punches his father.

A man's head is bludgeoned [spoiler]three times with a bowling pin. The beating is offscreen, but we see - from a moderate distance - the man's head bloodied on the ground.

A man is killed with a gunshot to the head. The setting is dimly lit, and the scene is positioned so that very little of the gore is visible.

Profanity

2/10

Repeated use of the word bastard throughout a scene.

2 uses of "God damn".

1 use of the word ass.

3/10

Some smoking and drinking.

9/10

The murder of Eli at the end is disturbing and graphic. The argument before is very intense.

The scene where Henry is killed is disturbing.

A violent gas explosion is depicted and a child is permanently disabled because of it.

A house is set in flames on purpose, two men try to put it out.

Overall, [I] 21/50

Suggested MPAA rating-PG-13 for some violence, disturbing images, thematic elements, and language.
