The cast of Red Dwarf compete with the fans in a quiz about the show, based on the format of University Challenge.
Jeremy Paxman was never part of Universe Challenge but was actually Chris Barrie doing an impression of him! It was great to see original presenter Bamber Gasgoine back asking the questions. He was always a more likable host than Paxman anyway. It's a shame that this segment of the 10th Anniversary night has never made it onto any of the DVD releases due to copyright issues. The TV broadcast version was heavily edited to fit the 30 min slot(which you'll notice if you watch the scores) whereas the actual recording was quite a bit longer. I actually preferred this part of the evening to Can't Smeg Won't Smeg which is now available as bonus material on an official DVD release. Universe Challenge was a fun show with the cast and fans obviously enjoying themselves and a nice little piece of Red Dwarf history.
